Find the cohort
Steam releases matching every selected tag are sampled across the chosen period. Demos, prologues, playtests, DLC, and soundtracks are excluded where Steam identifies them.
Free Steam idea-validation tool
Build a launch cohort from comparable Steam tags, expose the weak outcomes as well as the winners, and see how demanding your target really is.
Review activity is public evidence—not reported sales or a prediction.
Build the comparison
Every sampled game counts, including games with almost no reviews. Add a second tag when it represents a genuine requirement—not just a nice-to-have feature.
How it works
Steam releases matching every selected tag are sampled across the chosen period. Demos, prologues, playtests, DLC, and soundtracks are excluded where Steam identifies them.
Only games at least 365 days old qualify. We count all-language public reviews written during the same first-year window.
The median, upper quartile, top decile, target rate, and low-review outcomes are calculated from the usable sample. No minimum-review filter removes failures.
This independent tool uses public Steam storefront and all-language review-history data. Steam does not publish competitor sales, wishlists, traffic, conversion rates, or marketing spend. The cohort is a transparent sample of matching releases with a complete first year, and store tags and release dates can change.
